The Milwaukee Shooting occurred near the Fiserv Forum on Wednesday night as 11,000 fans gathered to watch the Bucks play in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series. The first shooting left three people injured on N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, while a second one injured 17 people in an area near N. Water Street. Police have taken into custody 10 individuals and recovered 10 firearms. As of Tuesday afternoon, there is no reason to believe the three shootings are related.
Ten people have been arrested, including the suspected shooter. A total of 10 guns were recovered near the arena. Milwaukee police have identified the two victims as a thirty-year-old man and a sixteen-year-old girl. Authorities are still trying to figure out what prompted the shooting. After the three shootings, Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson imposed a curfew and declared a state of emergency. A curfew has been imposed for the city for three nights, beginning at 11 p.m. on Saturday, and will last until 5 a.m. on Monday morning. The curfew will be in place in the downtown entertainment district for the weekend, and additional law enforcement is reportedly on the scene.
